BJP officially names 31 candidates in first list, 2nd list likely on Jan 27

BJP has finally come out with an official announcement of the first list of its candidates for the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Names of 31 candidates were already finalised at a meeting of the BJP Central Election Committee held on January 19 with president Amit Shah in the chair.
The second list is likely to be announced on January 27 .
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and other members of the Central Election Committee.
30 names finalised at the meeting have already been published in this paper and all their names including another name have been officially announced today.

Meanwhile, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer has initiated due arrangements to enable drivers and helpers requisitioned for election duty cast their votes through postal ballot papers.
Drivers and helpers requisitioned for election duty should first obtain forms in advance from ROs of polling stations where they are assigned election duties.
As instructed by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the office of the CEO has also initiated due procedures to enable cadres of all UG groups under SoO pact cast votes at their respective designated camps through postal ballot papers.
Notably, around 2100 cadres of UG groups under SoO pact are enrolled in the electoral roll of the State.

The other candidates are L Susindro Meitei (Khurai AC), Dr S Ranjan (Konthoujam AC), K Robindro (Mayang Imphal), S Joy (Wangoi), L Radha-kishor (Oinam AC), P Sharatchandra (Moirang AC), M Asnikumar (Thanga AC), Md Anwar Hussain (Lilong AC), L Rameshwor Meetei (Keirao AC), L Bashanta Singh (Bhim) (Thoubal AC), Th Jadumani (Khangabok AC), M Hemanta (Wangjing-Tentha AC), O Haridas (Wangkhem AC), Dr Nimaichand (Andro AC), Kh Ibomcha (Lamlai AC) and Th Radheshyam Singh (Heirok AC) .
