Public transport banned, CrPC 144 in all districts

Imphal, March 22 2020:
In view of the rising cases of confirmed COVID-19 in the country, the State Govt has banned all public transport systems namely; autos/wingers/magic etc with immediate effect.
An order issued by Principal Secretary (Transport) P Vaiphei said that the ban will be in force until further orders.
Moreover, separate orders issued by Deputy Commissioners have imposed Section 144 of CrPC 1973 in all districts of the State whereby any gathering/assembly of more than four persons outside their residence as well as all social/religious/political gatherings have been banned with immediate effect till the midnight of March 31 .
The State Government has already ordered closure of most of the public places including Temples, Churches, Mosques etc to reduce gathering of people.
With the exception of shops selling groceries and vegetables, the Government has also already ordered closure of all sections of malls/shopping complexes, restaurants, public eating joints, conference halls, drama theatres, cinema halls as well as tourist spots.
It has been notified that all inter-State entry gates of Jiribam, Mao, Jessami, Tipaimukh and Sinzawl would be closed to all passenger vehicles, both public and private, with effect from 5 am of March 23 until further orders.
Nonetheless, all goods carrying vehicles including petroleum tankers and LPG bullets would be allowed to ply subject to the condition that they do not bring in passengers and the driver and the handyman are screened/checked by health officials stationed at the gates.
Meanwhile, the Home Department has asked all persons who were outside the country from January 1 to February 29 this year and entered Manipur after March 1 to contact phone numbers 8787608315/9856174524/8256921124/7085455675 and submit detail information including name of country from which the individual returned, place of return to India, date of return to Imphal/Manipur and health condition.
Special Secretary (Home) H Gyan Prakash issued an order to this effect today.
