CM inaugurates sports complex, power station

Chief Minister O Ibobi today inaugurated Thoubal district sports complex at Kodompokpi ground, Wangjing, a 33/11 KV power sub-station and a police station at Khongjom.
Addressing the gathering at Wangjing Kodompokpi ground later, Chief Minister O Ibobi stated that the Govt is giving priority to provide basic minimum requirements of power, water, health care and education in every district.
He lauded the efforts of the Manipur Development Society for completing the sports complex construction ahead of the President's visit to the State on Khongjom Day (April 23) who is also scheduled to inaugurate a war memorial complex at Khongjom.

The CM exuded confidence that the sports complex will play a pivotal role in shaping the youth towards a healthy society.
He said that the construction works of mini-stadiums in other districts, specially the hill districts have been accelerated.
Since the construction work of the mini-sports complex for Bishnupur district was started a bit later, its completion will also be delayed.
Speaking at the occasion, Dy CM Gaikhangam stated that the State Govt has been making concerted efforts to bring equal development in both the hills and the valley.
He said that Manipur cannot be developed without developing the hill and rural areas.
The competence of the State Govt is there for all to see, he said while citing that the State Govt is able to put the Khongjom War Memorial complex in order for inauguration on April 23 within a span of few months.
Usually such construction takes at least three years.
The Govt has been setting a sort of record in this front.
The inauguration function was attended amongst others by RD and PR Minister M Okendro, Kakching AC MLA Y Surchandra, MLA of Wangjing Tentha AC P Brojen Singh, Chief Secretary O Nabakishore and DGP LM Khaute.
The 33/11 KV power sub-station inaugurated today at Khongjom is being constructed at the cost of Rs 480 lakh under NLCPR of Ministry of DoNER.
The power sub-station will cater to the power needs of surrounding localities like Khangabok, Papal, Sangaiyumpham, Tentha, Sapam, Tekcham, Cherapur, Langathel, Lamlong, Phundrei, S Tangkhul etc.
