MP Dr Ranjan reaches Silchar to discuss problem face by Manipuris of Assam

Imphal, November 19 2020:
Lok-Sabha MP from Inner Manipur, Dr.RK Ranjan, who is on a visit to Assam for discussion on various issues faced by the Manipuris of Assam has reached Silchar today.
Soon after he arrived at Silchar Airport, Lok Sabha MP Dr RK Ranjan was received by members of the All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU) .
Later, Dr Ranjan along with the members of the AASUM went to Pangram at Udharbond assembly Constituency of Assam where a statue of Paona Brajabashi is erected and paid floral tribute.
At Udharbond, Dr Ranjan interacted with the locality and listen to their problems.

The Manipur's MP Dr Ranjan will attend a one day programme organized to discuss on Various issues of Manipuri Living in Assam on November 21 .
In between, the MP is expected to meet the Manipuri CSOs, intellectuals and student leaders and other workers living in Assam before the one day discussion programme.
Talking to Imphal Times reporter Sh Ajit, who is presently at Silchar, convenor of the reception committee of MP Dr.Ranjan said that all representatives of the Manipuris living in Assam will put up issues on the de-recognition of Manipuri Language by the Assam govt.among others.
Another issue that the Manipuris of Assam will put forward is the recent support by various non Manipuris on the demand for formation of Naga Territorial Council which is expected as a agreed demand by the Government of India in connection with the solution of the Naga problem.
The AAMSU and other Manipuri civil bodies in Assam has been demanding for recognition of the Manipuri Langauge for quite a long time after the Assam Government had de-recognised the Manipuri Language.
According to Imphal Times reporter Sh Ajit, the Manipuris had high expectation to the visit of Dr RK Ranjan.
He said that Dr Ranjan will be discussing the issues of the Manipuris in Assam with Lok Sabha MP of Silchar Dr Rajdeep Roy and MLA of Silchar Dilip Kumar Paul.
