The incident of brutal murder of SDO, Kasom Khullen, Dr Kishan Thingnam, his driver A Rajen and Mandol, Y Token by cadres of NSCN(IM) will complete one year tomorrow.
Family, relatives and well-wishers will observe the day at Gandhi Ghat where the lifeless bodies of the trio were cremated.
Meanwhile, the JAC, formed in connection with the merciless murder of the trio after kidnapping them from Ukhrul district headquarters, has expressed disappointment saying that one of the alleged conspirators of the murder case, the then DC of Ukhrul district, Pankaj Kumar Pal is still at large.
Briefing reporters here today at Manipur Press Club, convener of the JAC, Y Kapur said that the ceremony to commemorate the trio is being organised jointly by the JAC and families of the deceased and appealed to all sections of the society to attend the observance of the day.
They had obtained the necessary prior permission of the Imphal west district magistrate with regard to the observance at the Gandhi Ghat at Uripok Machin.
In reply to a question asked by reporters, the convener said that the alleged conspirator in the murder of the trio, the then DC of Ukhrul District, Pankaj Kumar Pal is still at large.
His whereabouts are yet to be found out by the state authority.
In a police report submitted to the CJM Court, Ukhrul district under an FIR registered against him, states that despite hectic efforts by police, his whereabouts are yet to be found out.
In the meantime, in connection with investigation of the CBI in the case, Ukhrul CJM has summoned alleged culprits whose names included in the charge-sheet of the investigating agency on February 19 next.
Mention may be made that CBI while citing security reasons, has been seeking trial of the case on Hopeson Ningshen of NSCN(IM) in a court in New Delhi.
