Death toll mounts to 1817, 236 test positive

Imphal, September 15 2021:
Two more residents of Imphal West have succumbed to COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 1817 .
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, none of the two victims were vaccinated.
On the other hand, the State logged a positivity rate of 7.7 per cent as 236 people including 19 CAPF personnel were confirmed positive out of 3,082 samples tested for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours.
The 236 new positive cases were detected at RIMS (11), JNIMS (28) and other testing centres (197) and they are residents of Imphal West (115), Imphal East (35), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (8), Kakching (5), Ukhrul (29), Churachandpur (10), Chandel (4), Senapati (7), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (2), Kamjong (6) and Kangpokpi (5) .
Some hill districts continue to return high daily positivity rate as Ukhrul logged 29 new cases out of 216 samples tested to register a daily positivity rate of 13.4 percent.
Kangpokpi too returned a daily positivity rate of 11.9 percent as 5 out of the total 42 samples returned positive result.
Tengnoupal too returned a daily positivity rate of 9.5 percent with 4 of the 42 samples tested returning positive results.
Kamjong had a positivity rate of 9.2 percent with 6 out of 65 samples returning positive results.
Meanwhile, 227 COVID-19 positive people, follo- wing recovery, have been discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (71), RIMS (8), JNIMS (5), CCCs (96) and CHICs (47) .
Whereas the recovery rate stands at 96.23 per cent, the number of active cases as on Wednesday is 2,621 (general population 2,567 and Central security personnel 54) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,17,697 (general population 1,13,504 and Central security personnel 4,193) .
It includes 1,13,259 recovered cases (general population 1,09,125 and Central security personnel 4,134) .
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1209 D-type oxygen cylinders and 307 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the State.
Taking into account 5359 people vaccinated yesterday, the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 16,06,776 (1st dose 12,09,770 and 2nd dose 3,97,006).As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, COVID-19 beds available at different health care centres are RIMS (general beds 180; ICU/HDU beds 23), JNIMS (general beds 47; ICU/HDU beds 7), Iland Hospital (general beds 57; ICU/HDU beds 0), Little Flower School (general beds 21; ICU/HDU beds 7), CMC (general beds 30; ICU/HDU beds 6), Iboyaima Hospital (general beds 27; ICU/HDU beds 3), Jivan Hospital (general beds 16; ICU/HDU beds 8), Shija Hospital (general beds 40; ICU/HDU beds 30) and Raj Medicity (general beds 78; ICU/HDU beds 22) .
