With Rio in mind, Mary Kom continues to rock Nation

Soon after her return from London, Olympic Bronze medallist boxer MC Mary Kom said "My target is gold, I will try for gold in Rio".
At a reception organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Mary told her fans and supporters and well wishers that this time she is extremely happy that the whole country is behind her.
"Everybody , irrespective of religion prayed for me" she said and added "I am happy to bring back a medal for my country".
In an affirmative note Mary adds " Please continue to support me for the coming Rio 2016. I will go for gold".
Presenting a reward of Rs ten lakhs, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs and Panchayati Raj, Kishore Chandra Deo termed Mary Kom's achievement special.
Calling her a "tribal superwoman" the Minister said Mary is an inspiration.
Promising more benefit, the Union Minister announced Mary Kom for the Tribal Award 2012. A traditional Kom dance was presented after the formal function.
"I am satisfied, she delivered as expected " said Coach Anoop Kumar to The Sangai Express.
"I am confident for Gold in 2016 with a new weight of 51 kg," she said.

In the early hours of the day, a huge crowd of fans, people from Manipur and other North East States waited for Mary's landing at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Among others were from Kom community, the Zomi youth and student association, Manipuri and Kuki student organizations and families including children.
The excitement was palpable as the crowd chanted, cheered along with the drum beat well ahead of the arrival.
The euphoria knew no bound as Mary Kom was mobbed and her movement was literally halted.
As the cheering continued, the drum beats evolved into a traditional dance with Mary Kom joining in and shaking a leg much to excitement of the already frenzied fans.
