Imphal, January 14 2016:
The Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has donated relief materials to the people of Kabui Khullen Part-I which is located close to the epicentre of the January 4 devastating earthquake.
A team of JCILPS led by its convenor Kh Ratan went to Kabui Khullen and interacted with the quake affected villagers.
While conveying solidarity to all the affected families, they donated 28 bags of rice and 25 blankets.
Speaking at a gathering today, Kh Ratan said that all the hill people and valley people of Manipur share an age-old fraternal bond and they must share all tragic events as well as joyous moments.
He also assured more help to the quake affected people of Kabui Khullen from the side of JCILPS.
He said that JCILPS would lobby with the concerned authorities so that all necessary relief measures are taken up without any further delay.

He then highlighted the need to repair the road leading to Kabui Khullen so that the area is easily accessible to all benevolent organisations/ individuals.
Ratan stated that the JCILPS' campaign is aimed at protecting all indigenous communities of Manipur from the onslaught of incessant influx from outside the State.
A progressive Manipur can be realised only when there is uniform development in both the hills and the valley.
Development of Imphal and surrounding areas cannot be equated with development of Manipur as a whole.
The Government must pay special attention immediately to the grave situation where the people of Kabui Khullen have been mulling about shifting to a safer place after experts have pointed out that it is risky to live there.
The experts made this comment after studying large cracks made by the earthquake.
JCILPS women wing convenor L Nganbi said that Kabui Khullen villagers should not be panicky.
Rather they must face the challenge boldly.
The JCILPS team also visited many villagers who are currently taking shelter at relief camps and made an assessment of the trail of destruction left by the earthquake.
The 28 Kms long road from Noney to Kabui Khullen Part I was found to be in a very sorry state.
The team further donated 10 bags of rice and blankets to quake affected people who are taking shelter in relief camps opened at Noney Keithel.
