Covid claims 15 more, 890 more test positive

Imphal, July 12 2021:
COVID-19 continues to run riot claiming the lives of 15 people and infecting 890 people in the last 24 hours.
All the new cases of 890 are drawn from amongst the general population.
The 890 cases were detected out of 6521 samples tested, to take the daily positivity rate to 13.6 percent.
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement today said that 15 people passed away due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
They belonged to Imphal West (8), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (2) .
The 15 passed away at RIMS (6), JNIMS (4), Raj Medicity (2), Thoubal District Hospital (1) and Churachandpur District Hospital (2) .
The cumulative number of deaths now stands at 1287 .
Manipur also recorded 890 more cases during the last 24 hours.
All the new cases are from amongst the general population and out of the 890, women account for 438 .
The 890 people are from Imphal East (153), Imphal West (347), Thoubal (74), Bishnupur (69), Kakching (37), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (83), Chandel (5), Senapati (13), Tamenglong (59), Tengnoupal (5), Jiribam (4), Noney (1), Kamjong (21) and Kangpokpi (17) .
They were tested at RIMS, JNIMS, District Hospitals and other testing centres.
All necessary precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, claimed the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the addition of 890 more, the total number of people infected with coronavirus now stands at 78,621 including 3917 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is 7520 including 89 Central security personnel.
Altogether 590 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours.
They were discharged from home isolation (210), RIMS (19), JNIMS (3), CCCs (181) and CHICs (177) .
The recovery rate stands at 88.79 percent.
On July 11, 4804 people received their vaccination shots to take the total number of vaccinated people to 8,76,274 and this is inclusive of 94,456 who have received their second dose.
The COVID-19 Common Control Room further said that out of 224 beds available at RIMS, 219 are occupied.
At JNIMS it is 236/286, I Land Hospital (27/60), District Covid facilities (153/332), MSF (18/30), Private Covid hospitals (207/360) and CCCs (1130/2906) .
The grand total of admitted patients is 1990 and number of beds available is 2208 .
In the last 24 hours a total of 1796 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 376 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres.
