Death toll rises by two, 292 more test positive

The State's COVID-19 death toll has reached 1809 after two individuals belonging to Imphal West succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours.
On the other hand, out of 3,229 samples tested for COVID-19, 292 people including four personnel of CAPF were confirmed positive at RIMS (4), JNIMS (30) and other testing centres (258) .
The civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (150), Imphal East (40), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (9), Ukhrul (14), Churachandpur (15), Chandel (2), Senapati (10), Tamenglong (19), Tengnoupal (1), Noney (1), Pherzawl (1), Kamjong (10) and Kangpokpi (5) .
With 292 confirmed positive out of 3,229 samples tested, the State recorded positivity rate of 9 per cent on Saturday.
Though the overall daily positivity rate is below the double figure mark, some districts recorded high positivity rate with Kamjong leading the way with 27.8 percent.
Out of 36 samples tested, 10 returned positive results.
Other places of concern are Tamenglong with 19.4 percent, Imphal West with 13.9 percent, Kakching with 12.7 percent and Ukhrul with 11.3 percent.
Meanwhile, following recovery, 212 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (96), RIMS (3), JNIMS (9), CCCs (71) and CHICs (33).The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,16,899 (general population 1,12,728 and Central security personnel 4,171) .
This figure includes 2,847 active cases (general population 2,808 and Central security personnel 39) and 1,12,243 recovered cases (general population 1,08,116 and Central security personnel 4,127) which puts the recovery rate at 96.02 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1270 D-type oxygen cylinders and 281 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the State, according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
It further informed that 5934 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 on September 30 and this puts the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the State to 15,90,822 (1st dose 11,99,970 and 2nd dose 3,90,850) .
The number of Covid beds available as enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room is RIMS (General beds-183, ICU-23), JNIMS (General beds-33, ICU-13), Iland Hospital, free of cost (General beds-17), MSF, Little Flower School, free of cost (General beds-20, ICU-6), CMC Koirengei (General beds-28, ICU-4), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-27, ICU-3), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-16, ICU-8), Shija Hospital (General beds-41, ICU-31), Raj Medicity (General beds-82, ICU-18) .
