While National People's Party (NPP) and Naga People's Front (NPF) bagged four seats each, AITC, LJP and independent won one seat each.

The victorious Congress candidates include Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar, MPCC president TN Haokip and Hill Areas Committee Chairman Dr Chaltonlien Amo.

The elected NPP candidates include former Minister L Jayantakumar and former DGP Y Joykumar while former Minister Phungzathang Tonsing leads the list of losers.

Awangbow Newmai is one of the four elected candidates of NPF.

Ashab Uddin is the lone victorious independent candidate.

The only victorious candidates of AITC and LJP are Tongbram Robindro and Karam Shyam respectively.

Out of 13 Assembly segments located within Imphal West district, BJP won six seats while Congress party was able to secure only 4 .

The two rival parties won similar number of seats in Imphal East district which has 10 Assembly segments in total.

In Bishnupur district which has six Assembly segments, Congress won three seats, one more than BJP.

Congress party fared much better in Thoubal, the home district of Chief Minister O Ibobi.

Out of 10 Assembly segments, Congress won eight while the remaining two went to BJP.

Churachandpur district has six seats and they have been shared between Congress and BJP in equal number.

Interestingly in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, which have three Assembly segments, none of the sitting MLA could retain their seat with the three ACs sending three new faces to the Assembly.

Two candidates of the Naga People's Front and one candidate of the Congress walked the distance to be elected.

At Phungyar Assembly Constituency, NPF candidate K Leishiyo defeated sitting MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Victor Keishing of the Congress while in Chingai Assembly Constituency NPF candidate Khashim Vashum defeated sitting MLA and Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Preshaw Shimray.

At Ukhrul AC, Congress candidate Alfred Kangam Arthur defeated NPF MLA Samuel Risom.

Altogether there were 148 NOTA votes in the three Assembly segments.

A shabuddin secured 8189 votes while Debendra got 6539 votes.

NOTA got 389 votes.

In Churachandpur the six Assembly seats were evenly split between the Congress and the BJP but two political heavy weights in the Ibobi led Congress Ministry including a current Minister lost to the BJP.

Sitting Congress MLA from 55-Tipaimukh AC, Dr Chaltonlien Amo retains his seat along with his Congress counterpart in 60- Singngat, Ginsuanhau Zou.

While MPCC president TN Haokip retained his seat from Saikot AC for the fourth time a sitting Cabinet Minister in the last Ministry T Manga Vaiphei lost to former Deputy Speaker TT Haokip from the BJP in Henglep AC.

Veteran politician Phungzathang Tonsing who left the Congress party at the eleventh hour for the NPP also lost to former Cabinet Minister V Hangkhanlian in Churachandpur AC.

Sitting MLA from Thanlon AC, Vungzagin Valte who has also defected to the BJP from the Congress retained his seat as well.

Churachandpur saw heavyweights biting the dust but sees no fresh faces as the two replacements too are well known faces in the State's political circle with both having their share of experience in the previous Assemblies.
