Not let up in surge as 788 positive, 7 deaths reported

Imphal, July 10 2021:
Altogether 788 persons were tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative number of positive cases to 76,820 including 3903 Central security personnel.
On the other hand Manipur reported 7 deaths to take the total number of deaths due to coronavirus to 1258 .
The number of new positive cases as well as deaths on a single day were below the numbers recorded on July 9, which had figures of 852 new positive cases and 10 deaths.
With 788 returning positive results out of 5950 samples tested, the daily positivity rate saw a dip from the 15.8 percent of July 9 to 13.2 percent today.
It is still not yet clear whether the total of 788 included those who were tested during the house to house testing which started today.
The seven deaths were reported from Imphal West (3), Imphal East (1), Bishnupur (2) and Kakching (1).They passed away at RIMS (4), JNIMS (2) and Shija Hospital (1).The 788 civilians who tested positive are from Imphal East (190), Imphal West (285), Thoubal (55), Bishnupur (68), Kakching (56), Ukhrul (11), Churachandpur (74), Chandel (10), Senapati (11), Tamenglong (6), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (2), Kamjong (12), Pherzawl (1), Noney (5) and Kangpokpi (1) .
They were tested at RIMS (22), JNIMS (80), District Hospitals (469) and other testing centres (217).On the other hand 483 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement.
They were discharged from home isolation (174), RIMS (15), JNIMS (17), CCCs (167) and CHICs (110).With 483 more people discharged in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered cases is 68,654 including 3808 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate stands at 89.36 percent.
The number of active cases is 6908 including 90 Central security personnel.
On July 9, a total of 13105 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 taking the total number of vaccinated people to 8,64,482 and out of this 93,380 have received their second dose.
The COVID-19 Common Control Room further said that as on July 9, the admitted/adjusted available bed strengths in different health centres are RIMS (216/224), JNIMS (203/286), I Land Hospital (36/60), District Covid facilities (146/332), MSF (22/30), private Covid hospitals (216/360) and CCCs (1139/2906) The grand total of admitted patients is 1978 and the number of beds available is 2220 .
In the last 24 hours a total of 1670 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 379 B Type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health centres across the State.
