Sadar Hills continues to burn, offices set ablaze

There is no sign of reprieve in Sadar Hills as violent incidents have been continuously aggravating the situation already worsened by the indefinite general strike and the highway blockade.
At least five Government offices were reduced to cinders last night in addition to digging up two big holes on NH 39 near Gamgiphai under Sapermeina police station.
General strike supporters set blaze one PHC at Kalapahar as well as the Kangpokpi post office last night.
At about midnight, Saitu-Gamphazol SDO office and Social Welfare office were set afire.
Shortly, the DI office was also set afire completely reducing the office to ashes.

As the strike supporters started burning the Kalapahar PHC, Manipur Rifles personnel attached to the VDF post located there opened fire to prevent the act of arson, causing minor injuries to two people identified as Thangkhalal (17) and Thangjalian.
two large holes, about 4 feet deep and 2.5 feet in diameter have also been dug out near Gamgiphai.
One bomb was also retrieved from near Sapermeina, added a report.
