One more succumbs, 38 test positive

Imphal, January 03 2021:
The State's COVID-19 death toll rose by one to 358 following expiry of one more individual at RIMS Hospital while 38 people including one personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours.
The latest victim was a 65-year old woman from Imphal West, informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The fresh positive cases were detected at Imphal West, JNIMS, RIMS, Mother's Care Hospital, Escent Diagnostics, Shija Hospital, Advance Hospital, Asian Hospital, Babina Diagnostics, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Tamenglong.
The 37 civilians who have been tested positive belong to Imphal West (19), Imphal East (2), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (6), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (3), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
All of them are local people who do not have any significant travel history.
On the other hand, 33 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (24), JNIMS (1), RIMS (2), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (1), Shija Hospital (4) and Kakching (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 28,281 (general population 24,900 and Central security personnel 3,381) .
It includes 1,108 active cases (general population 996 and Central security personnel 112) and 26,815 discharged cases (general population 23,550 and Central security personnel 3,265) .
The recovery rate stands at 94.81 per cent.
