New Delhi, August 02:
In the backdrop of continuing agitation in Manipur seeking withdrawal of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee today to discuss the situation in the State.
Ibobi Singh met the top central leadership at the Prime Ministers Office.
He later had a one-to-one meeting with Patil at his office.
Sources said they discussed the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act in force in Manipur.
The Chief Minister however, declined to divulge details about the meetings, stone-walling questions with a cryptic "not now".
This was his second meeting with Patil and third with Mukherjee within a week in the wake of the tense situation in the State.
Manipur has been on the boil for nearly a month now following widespread protests in the wake of alleged custodial killing of a woman by Assam Rifles jawans.
Indefinite curfew is continuing in most parts of the State and several social organisations have demanded withdrawal of the Act.
