One more dies, total positive cases reach 11111

While the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the State has reached 11,111, the virus has claimed one more life.
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that a 50-year old man from Thoubal died at JNIMS during the last 24 years taking the official total number of deaths to 68 .
However, two deaths reported from Churachandpur due to COVID-19 have not been taken into account of this official figure.
During the last 24 hours, 112 civilians and 16 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the contagion at RIMS, Senapati, Tengnoupal, Noney, Churachandpur, Raj Medicity, Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Shija Hospital, Imphal East, Kakching, Thoubal, Mothers' Care, Jiribam, Hillside Hospital, Babina Diagnostics, Bishnupur and JNIMS.
The 112 civilians who have been tested positive belong to Imphal West (40), Imphal East (13), Senapati (2), Jiribam (2), Tengnoupal (1), Noney (16), Churachandpur (4), Tamenglong (18), Ukhrul (4), Chandel (1), Thoubal (5), Kakching (2) and Bishnupur (4).Out of them, seven persons belonging to Imphal East district are returnees from other States while the rest are locals without any significant travel history.
Meanwhile, 181 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from RIMS (6), home isolation (3), CCC Thoubal (33), CCC Noney (1), CCC UNACCO (17), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (41), CCC Kasom (1), CCC Kangpokpi (6), CCC Bishnupur (9), CCC Sadbhavna Mandop Churachandpur (37), CCC Lanva (15) CAPF (12) after they were found free of the virus.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 11,111 (general population 8796, Central security personnel 2315) .
It includes 2402 active cases (general population 1857, Central security personnel 545) and 8641 discharged cases (general population 6874, Central security personnel 1767) .
The recovery rate is 77.76 per cent.
