During the last decade Shasikumar has brought out 15 books out of which 13 were Sumang Lilas. The author depicts the life of a rickshaw puller whose life is dedicated to safeguarding the member of a family. The name of the rickshaw puller is Ramo who is coming from Cachar. He was in love with a girl named Rani. When Rani was raped by Raju, a wicked goon she committed suicide. Raju repented having caused the suicide. He too committed suicide just in front of Ramo. At the first sight Ramo pulled the knife with his hand from Raju's belly. Witnessing Ramo with a blood stained knife in his hand Police arrested him. He was jailed for 15 years for the case of murder. After 15 years of imprisonment he spent his life by looking after Rohini and Rita. Rita was the girl carried by Ramo with his rickshaw from home to school and from school to home everyday. After the imprisonment Ramo realized that Raja, the husband of Rohini was lost. So he was bound to look after the hapless family members of Raja. He brought up Rita to become a lawyer. Rita was in love with Rajel, son of Ratan, an affluent man. Ramo strongly opposed Rita to have relationship with Ratan's family. Ratan was the goon who had killed Ramo's parents while he was a young child. Rita expressed her view that she has the right to choose her life partner and it was her decision to choose Rajel. Ramo did not like to dictate on the matter of marriage and so he was to leave the place. But he was consoled by Rohini and requested to stay longer in the family. At length Rita was married to Ratan's son. At that moment the lost husband appeared before Ramo. |
