How I wonder what Bemni is in the genre of folktales. It would not be an easy task to collect such a lot of folktales. Here in this volume we could find out the popular tales like Sandrembi Amasung Chaisra, Hanuba Hanubi Amasung Yongnao. A man might destroy another man's physical body but the soul could never be destroyed. Examples are shown in many tales like Mama Poktabi, Sandrembi Amasung Chaisra etc. This volume features beautiful pictures illustrated by N Nongdonsana. Illustrations are very important in children's books. It is high time to bring out children's books specially in computerized print with colourful photos and illustrations so that it could promote the habit of reading by giving full attractions to the children. Writers in Manipur like L Raghumani Sharma, RK Mani, RK Bhubonsana should have to bring out more and more children books in order to promote children literature. With her constant effort N Bemni could bring out a large number of Manipuri folktales. There are gripping tales in this volume. The tale Kanugi Lousing reflects the activities of a wise boy called Kanu whose wise plan could kill the demon. The demon comes to a village everyday in the guise of a beggar and abducts children. One day the demon wooed Kanu and Manu, the little boys and brought them to the woods. The two boys could escape from the hands and could kill the demon with their wise plan.
