Your Cry
Gemson Shimray Awungshi *
Your first cry brought such joy;
A joyous moment that wrapped all pains
Fetched smiles on every face;
A fable rumoured among folks.
Your bright face bestowed hope;
A promise composed with ev'ry dream
Enticed the hearts of many;
Rewarded with labour of love.
Your early days of glee;
An era of boundless boyhood charms
Shared among friends and fam'ly;
Remained a legendary tale.
Your brightest days buried;
A killing field you deserved naught so
From the long arms of the brute;
Your last cry will echo ever.
