'Yog Shivir' organised at Tamenglong Helipad
44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector/ IGAR (East) organised “Yog Shivir” at Tamenglong Helipad as a run up to the International Day of Yoga. The week long event kickstarted on 30 May 2022 in the backdrop of scenic hills of Tamenglong and will continue till the 5th June 2022.
The event was part of unit’s ongoing initiatives as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and was aimed to inspire “Mass Movement for Health and Well Being” through Yoga. Common Yoga Protocols, Yoga postures and demonstration were some of the activities undertaken by the batallion at the event.
Speaking on the occasion the Commandant, 44 Assam Rifles stressed on the importance of Yoga in everyone's life. He further told that with advance in technology and modernisation the lifestyle of the people have changed to a great extent and with it came many life style diseases. There is a greater need for everyone to remain fit and save ourselves and our families from these diseases.
Further, he said this event will help create wider awareness among the participants about the importance of Yoga in daily life.
