Yashwant mulls coalition front
Times of India | TNN | Nov 11, 2011, 09.32AM IST:
With the primary target to upstage the Congress-led Secular Progressive Front (SPF) government in the coming assembly polls and form a new coalition ministry, BJP MP and former Union finance minister Yashwant Sinhahas urged all opposition parties to unite and defeat Congress.
To defeat chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh, a straight fight is needed wherever he (Ibobi Singh) contests, the BJP leader said adding that discussions are on with many like-minded parties to challenge the Congress in the polls. Coming down heavily on the SPF ministry, he said, "The Ibobi government has failed in all fronts. It should be dismissed and President's Rule should be imposed. The state government has no moral ground to continue even for a day."
Charging Ibobi Singh of having links with underground groups, the BJP leader said the Centre hasn't taken action against him only because he is a Congressman. He said the Centre should send an all-party delegation to Manipur to assess the situation and make a recommendation to ensure the crisis is resolved.
