X–rated poem
K. Radhakumar *
I saw,
And saw clearly,
The globe reduced to
Closed domestic circles and
Inhabited by humans
In my dream
Last night.
No queen,
No castle,
My king is checkmated.
Do you hear the ticking of the clock?
The problem of drug abuse
Unemployment
Global warming –
That’s not my problem.
Am I my brother’s keeper?
On the battlefield of Kurukshetra, Krishna
the charioteer and Arjuna the warrior philosophized
about war and peace. Was it a conclusive dialogue
on it ?
Oh, Jerusalem!
The fall of the twin tower on 9/11!
Do you hear the ticking of the clock?
Can I say
my life is a quest
for realization
of my true self
as consciousness
distinct from both body and mind?
'Live thy Life
Young and old
Like yon oak
Bright in spring
Living gold.'
The bloom in the cheeks of the shy girl
The exotic blooms of the sweet peas
Winter is coffin.
Summer is not yet rocked in the cradle.
It is spring.
It is spring, love.
Tick tock tick tock.
