Former UPSC Chairman Prof. David R. Syiemlieh concludes Winter school 2018 at NEHU
A three weeks long Winter School concluded at UGC, HRDC, in North Eastern Hill University, Shillong on 7th April, 2018. As many as 42 faculty members from various Colleges and Universities from North-East India participated in the programme.
Prof. David R. Syiemlieh, Former Chairperson of the UPSC was the Chief Guest on the concluding day. In his valedictory speech, he expressed profound happiness at the successful completion of the Winter School and gave the highlights of Union Public Service Commission which came into existence with the promulgation of the Constitution of India on January 26th, 1950.
The valedictory function was chaired by Prof. Rakesh Mohan, Director, UGC- HRDC, NEHU, who pointed out the importance of this course, as the changing paradigms of higher education will bring new challenges and opportunities for the college and university teachers, and they need to constantly update themselves and become more academically charged.
The course coordinator Dr. Quendarisa Kharbuli presented a brief report on the course and expressed her thankfulness to all the participants for attending the Winter School with utmost interest.
