When Hopes Wither Away

Where are you ?
Where do you live?
I cannot for the life of me
Find where you live.
Society has made me
Look upstairs –
Do you see me?
Do you hear me?
I do not hear you.
I have been looking for you –
I have not seen you yet.
Seeing is believing –
You were,
And still is,
An unseen reality.
The state of my mental fitness?
Is it my creation
To kill the loneliness of life?
Life is full of joys and sorrows.
Then why ask
Why this pain?
Why this death?
The matter of life and death is my concern
And not of my unseen friend.
Why I was here
There is no rhyme or reason to it.
The only reality is I can hear
Nightingales singing at break of day
And I can see my wife
Saying her morning praye
