UNDP meet to develop NE model
The Telegraph | Roopak Goswami | Guwahati, July 12
The United Nations Development Programme is looking to develop a new partnership model with the state governments of the Northeast to implement projects on a large scale.
The UN body, which will soon have a formal office in the Northeast, will now enhance its activities and work with partners to help make development efforts in the region more efficient, effective, inclusive, equitable and sustainable.
A consultation meeting, attended by state and central government officials, policy experts, representatives of civil society organisations and academicians, was held today to develop a roadmap and action plan as part of the UNDP's Northeast development strategy.
