UNC and others oppose indefinite Manipur bandh
Morung Express | Newmai News Network | Senapati Jul 5
Several organisations have come out strongly against the indefinite Manipur state wide bandh call by the Thadou Student’s Association-General Headquarters (TSA-GHQ), Rongmei Naga Student’s Organisation (RNSO) and Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR).
Coming out strongly against the plan of the three student bodies, the United Naga Council (UNC) informed Newmai News Network tonight that a bandh of such magnitude i.e. indefinite bandh affecting all the “Naga areas” under the UNC jurisdiction cannot be imposed by anyone without consulting the concerned authorities. The UNC further said that “Naga areas are not the play-fields for Tom, Dick and Harry to toy around at will”.
Also strongly opposing the indefinite bandh call, the Senapati District Student Association (SDSA) said that it will not allow any “unjustified bandh in Senapati district”.
