Two tiny streams, with private dreams
fountains of joy in each parents eyes,
Growing as you gurgled along
each, your private ways.
Over sand and pebbles, sand bars and rocks
that snag and tug as you trip on by
singing your own clear songs
Sometimes gushing
Sometimes cascading
Sometimes a lazy pool.
In Brazil they say at Manaus,
the black Rio Negro
meets the muddy Amazon.
For many miles
the waters wind
black and white
flowing side by side
Together, yet separate
in clearly defined streams
until they finally intermingle
So you two streams
have met and merged
to flow though life
together
side by side, black and white
each licking it own soft bank.
For better or worse
Though sickness and health
to sing with one voice, loud and strong
a married couples song.
We wish you happiness, We wish you joy
We wish you eternal love,
We wish you health, We wish you wealth
We give you all our love.
Through all that life brings on for you
always remember that
The mountains whence you sprang from
Will always be there for you
To be your strength, to feed your stream
To flow wherever you want to.
