To Mother
Deepa Khomdram *
Never did we bother to wish you on this day
Always took you for granted with dismay
Made fun of you when you were sad
Poked you when you were mad
Troubling you with all our mischievous activities
Causing you deep pain and distress.
Never did we value your presence
Because we believed you will be always there.
Now we miss your presence
Now we long for your care
When you are no longer with us
We realize your love for us.
Neither did we get the chance to bid you goodbye
Neither did we have the opportunity to express our love.
You left in silence bearing the brunt
Without letting none of us aware of your disgust.
So concerned were you about us
That you silently bore the pangs.
Dear Mother, you are the greatest
The greatest person I have ever met
Or known. Had you been with us till today
We would have together celebrated this day
And expressed how blessed we are
To have been brought up in your niche.
Happy Mother’s Day Dear Mother!
