TODAY -
Three frogs
S Balakrishnan *
At my granny's backyard, vast & green,
Sits aside a well for a century and more.
A bit salty but never dry!
With secrets of the bathing womenfolk
And yearnings of the washing menfolk
It's ever awash though!
Warm in winter, cool in summer,
Is the gift of a well's water!
That's Mother Nature!
Years back, as I peeped once,
As is my wont into well any,
Frogs three did I glance!
Oh, poor souls, stuck forever!
Big and Bad though it might be,
Come you must to the world outside.
Here cometh your destined Saviour!
In the bucket I dropped, one was trapped,
But the dodging pair made me a Sinner Forever!
