It may not be as per their likings but it will bring them knowledge, experience & of course monetary assistance. While doing anything they can reach the heights, I know the talents of our people & they are capable of achieving target in any field they work. They are the best. There is a big demand for perfect models in fashion designing & with the help of our dedicated designers of Manipur market could be created in the National as well as International arena. I have seen malls & showroom dealing in different kinds of garments. The costumes & dresses I have seen in the fashion parade can fetch a good market. Once few of our designs are approved, a large number of jobs can be created for manufacturing, marketing; and not only creation of jobs and economy, this industry will bring a name to Manipur like sports & culture. We can create a home market in our own State as well as neighbouring States and also a demand can be in local films which are coming up in large numbers. Our designers can be exposed through trade fares at Pragati Maidan, Delhi where visitors are not only from India but buyers from abroad. Once some of our designs could reach International market it will boost our economy. I had been a visitor to our Manipur Pavilion during trade fares at Delhi where I find selling of “Singju” (a kind of salad), eatables of Moreh, some goods purchase from Delhi, some hand loom, handicrafts. Why not we make a good selection of traders who could prove in promoting our items which we can produce with available raw materials within Manipur.
Our Industries Department spend so much in trade fares but what results we get we all know. We need a sincere initiative of all concerned to promote our designs & create a platform to find clients and suitable job which will help in employment generation & for the growth of economy of our poor State. There may be many other talented models like Mr. Nirmal, Mr. Hally, Mr. Som, Mr. Momo, Miss Moshuma, Miss Sanathoi, Miss Lily, Miss Reena & Miss Anushka whom I had seen and are really worthy of appreciation & they have a bright future if attached to such an institution through whom they could be exposed. There is a need of various institutions with dedicated & sincere officials. I appreciate the services of Mr. Doren, Mr Goutam & Sunida who are working day & night to promote talented youth. I have full confidence once we achieve this goal in this field a lot of our youth could get employment, improve our economy by marketing our products as well as law & order will be better to some extent. Our Govt. must have spent a lot but result we all know. The need of the hour is sincere effort by all concerned. This is high time we promote our silk and its products to the outside world to help economy and unemployment. Silk is one of the finest yarns ever used in the making at a large varieties of clothes. It commands the respect of millions of its users all over the world. Being 100% natural and noted for its softness, smoothness and lustre, silk fabrics are considered to be the most delicate and refined of all materials put to use for the production of various clothes of artistic beauty, style, grace and elegance. With the patronage of all sorts of people, big or small, high or low, rich or poor, it has lived from time out of reach of memory. Silk goods made in Manipur are adapted to the understanding, taste, or means of the people and have substantial markets both in India and abroad. Silk industry provided gainful employment outstandingly for the woman folk and contributes remarkably to the welfare of our State. It plays a pivotal role in creating job opportunities for the emergency generation of different age-groups at large.
Silks products are very much a kin to the world of glamour which again is closely related to the discovery of the hidden beauty of man and woman alike. The handsomeness and symmetry in both sexes can be visualized only through the wearing of well fashioned and well designed silk clothes. Therefore, the importance of fashion designed to respond to the wind of changes occurring in the realm of beauty cultures needs no overemphasis. Fashion-designing as a trade and also as an art has become a thing of global significance. The perception of fashion designing has been all pervasive and has kept haunting the minds of the young and energetic people across the world. Adopting this trade as a means of livelihood brings forth unexpected results in double-quick time. Practice will prove the results. What follows is the ne-ed for an awareness campaign strong and powerful enough to instill the idea of the gravity of fashion-designing in the present-day context of the fast transforming society into the brains of the people of the modern age. Becoming a fashion-designer, in fact, is a necessity in as much as it is lucrative. Into the bargain, the creation of a healthy environment to promote silk products is highly essential for the prospective growth of our economy and generation of more employment for the job-starved people.
