TODAY -
The Stars and the Child
- Deep from the Soul -
K. Radhakumar *
Though I am no longer a child
I would like to pick the stars
From the sky.
I am a monkey
Who wishes he was
A man;
And this is my pleasure.
The right way up is narrow and steep.
Will it be a difficult climb
Or will it be a child's play?
Is it a short ladder?
I have to climb up the rungs –
What if the rungs are slippery?
Though life is not always fair to me
It is a simple affair.
It is waking in the morning
And sleeping in the night.
It is getting a job and start a family
And die one day.
No doubt
A good piece performed
Without rehearsal.
