The Heart of the Matter
- Deep from the Soul -
K. Radhakumar *
The world is engulfed
In the icy coldness of the winter;
The trees are naked
But for few yellow leaves
On the dirty and bare branches.
The winter trees look very forlon
And have an unearthly appearance.
Boy, it sure is cold!
The world looks cold.
I wish I were the sun.
It is now high summer;
In the hot weather
Without a breath of wind
Life lacks pace.
I wish I were the wind
And getting up
Make the trees sway.
Life is a car
Running down the road;
Life fades into death
Before you can blink.
Oh, dear! Time flies.
I am not what I will do
I am not what I think I am
I am what I have done
And I have done pretty little.
Thinking
Just thinking –
It has become a way of doing.
At the end of the day,
He will still have to think,
Oh, his thoughts.
