The Farm
Rajangdai Gonmei *
All blissful,
in the wind, dancing
to each touch of the
cool kind breeze.
sway solemnly,
to the rhythm of nature's enchanted lilt.
there's not much of a glimpse
but a thousands
sweet-cane.
boundless line,
each justly grown,
all tall and green.
proud with their sweetness hence
till the horizon it stretches.
oh! the time.
poor they, cognize not.
the reaper gives a smile
as they sway,
heedless of the soon-harvest.
my heart in trouble,
how in a day,
down they fall.
the numerous i behold
will but be clear, with none.
'oh poor!' I mused.
once a machete,
i do will miss you soon.
