Run Date : 16th September 2018
The Endureres at the Dwarka Half Marathon
‘The Endurers’, is a running group in Delhi. The runners come from different walks of life consisting of civil servants, professors, professionals working in private sector, educationists, writers, nurses, entrepreneurs and university students etc from various regions of India, including the North East, who share one passion -for running and helping community.
25 of them participated in the Dwarka Half Marathon mainly sponsored by the Mexican Embassy in different distance categories of 21, 15, 10 and 5 kilometres. Why ‘The Endurers’ decided to participate in this run was because the proceeds go towards ‘CanSupport’, an NGO that gives free care to cancer patients.

They had in the past participated in many official events in Delhi and the NCR and some were podium finishers in different distance categories. The runners range from long distance runners doing 52 kilometres (Ultra run) to beginners doing their first 5 kilometres on track and trail.
‘The Endurers’ meet regularly once a week for group runs all throughout the year and encourage each other to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Running keep them not only healthy but also give them confidence to try their best in other areas of life.
It has been proven that running is used as a means to cope with a wide range of life’s challenges, like grief, anger, sadness, stress of living in a big city, anxiety, depression, poor health due to sedentary lifestyle, racism and the logistical busyness of everything else in life.
