The Dark Shadow
K. Modar Maring *
Long days after, from that dumpy land;
The stage by stage from dormancy seeking favorable conditions,
Like epicotyls to radicle asking for mineral soil;
Like hypocotyls to cotyledon complaining for less care.
I saw the sunlight coming from Far East, then;
I exclaim the joy and excitement,
Within me with the great enthusiast to grow faster;
Later I found the environment, a real threat.
And started reading the nature’s beauty;
Asking for love and mercy,
Receive nothing, but facing troubles all around;
A while happy to see grown enough to stand alone.
Days after days, Seasons after seasons;
When I found, I am grown enough,
I found, I was in the darkness,
The darkness, that was built for me.
