The Dark Garbage
M Nandakishore Sharma *
Foxes envy but can't taste the grapes
Parrots unfix feathers at ripe mangoes - te - te,
The bees are not jealous but wait for the budding ones
The gardeners never desirously pluck petals but talk to.
Full many a diseased fruit and flower
Fall down every moment unable to self-save.
The ditch and drainage are rotten and rotting
Floating in torrents towards the dark grounds.
The mistakes committed unwillingly willing
Or otherwise thus fated on life.
The road heaped up with pebbles and shreds
The petals have shrouded torn and dried.
By being exposed to the hot heat of the sun
You are smelling the dust-tormented stink.
The sour taste of the green fruits
Captivates the youngsters all the more.
The monk-bees are also enamoured
And propose to hasten the diseased journey.
To avoid the tragedy in the long run
All have cautioned to leave that path.
To save the few roots for ever
Safeguard yourself to save the society.
