The Dark Cloud on the Horizon
K. Radhakumar *
I understand
Yellow leaves falling from trees;
I say it with a smile
And it is not an unnatural smile.
I have also seen
Green leaves falling
Not only at the time of war
But also in the peaceful times
We live in.
The images of hope!
This is all I have,
All I have
For all my efforts.
The living hope of a dead image
Or the dead hope of a living image!
Call it what you will.
Desire!
I have no desire
To question the meaning of life.
With age
Life is all memories.
Some hope!
I am sorry
I am not a living thing at present.
