The Caged Bird
Lalit Rajkumar *
Oh, my God! This is life
Is this really a life?
Have I had a chance
To experience to its full extremities?
All I know is this cage and my owner.
But not my master.
For my master is Him.
I live because of His wish
And I'll die of the same.
But, I want to know the world
I want to feel when peaked
And him to feel when caged.
If only I can be free
I'll forgive him
For forgiving is divine though
I don't wish to be divine
My only wish is to be free.
Free from the evils
But not the evil-doers
For they too want to get rid of it
And it might be their only wish.
But, I'll prefer to put him in my place
And me in his
If there's a choice.
For the 'survival of the fittest' theory
Still exists and will exist.
It is His blessing or His curse
Only He knows.
But, what I only want to know
Is the uncaged life
With a cause to live for.
