The Beginning of the End
K. Radhakumar *
If one believes in the Creation
The making of the world by God –
And it's a big if
In the hard times one lives in –
The matter is simple.
One simply says
It is God's will.
The reality is
The matter is not as simple as that.
What is life?
Who am I?
The answer is not quite simple.
It is complicated,
It's all very complicated.
I came here
With a first-class return ticket.
Return I must.
Let me take stock of my life:
What I have been doing all these days?
Just where is all this leading me?
Never have I asked this question seriously;
I am really serious about it now.
Maybe I am growing old
Maybe my time to return is drawing near.
It's not just a thought;
I've given the question careful thought.
What I have been doing all these days?
Just where is all this leading me?
Honest to goodness,
I can't give an answer to the question.
I can't.
