Thadou Tribe 60 Years Recognition Day and Chavang Kut Celebrated

Chavang Kut and 60th Years of Recognition of Thadou Tribe celebration at Bengaluru :: 15 November 2016 .
The Thadou Students’ Association, Bengaluru (TSA-B) celebrated Chavang Kut and 60th Years of Recognition of Thadou Tribe by the Government of India on 15th Nov., 2016 at Yavanika Auditorium, State Youth Centre, Nrupathunga Road, Bengaluru.
The program begins at 4 p.m. wherein Shri Dwarka Naidu, Social worker graced the event as Kut-Pa (Functional President) and declared the Festival opened. A Cake Cutting ceremony was led by Chief Guest of the program Shri Iada Martin, IPS (SP, CID, KSP, GoK) in commemoration of 60th years of Thadou tribe recognition day.
“Thadou are the ethnic tribe of North East India, Myanmar and Bangladesh. They are also known as Kuki in Manipur, Nagaland, Assam & Meghalaya; Mizo in Mizoram and Chin in Myanmar. Thadous inhabit since time memorial and the language, customs, culture are known as Thadou and are practised on from generation to generation by our fore-fathers.
As per Article 366 (25) and Article 242, Thadou became a recognized Tribe on 29th October, 1956 recognized by the Govt. of India and today marks its 60th years of its Recognition Day” said Mr Michael Lamjathang Haokip, President, TSA-B in his Presidential Address.

The program was enthralled by the famous Thadou pop singer Mr Kakai Kipgen from New Delhi. Various artistes from the Thadou community in Namma Bengaluru performed their talents. A Traditional cultural dance of Thadou was also performed by TSA-B Cultural Troupe.
Dignitaries from the localities also graced the function. The program begins with an invocation prayer by Mr Kammang Sitlhou, M.Th. and a ended with a valedictory prayer by Mrs Chongneng Kipgen.
