Use of design
Most of the designs created on khwang-lyong and pan-iyong are designed geometrically and they are produced after joining one design with the Following one. Some of the designs found on wool-chadars are -
Karot mana,
khuji.
khuji-phaibok,
kheiroithek,
likli mayek,
joho mayek,
maloti lei mayek,
joypuri mayek,
nga maku or warol mil.
ngakha mamit,
moirang-thokpa and
yensin mayek etc.
The design of moirang-fiuikpa is specially arranged along the boarders
of sari and inaphi. Since 1990 moirang-thokpa has been used on sari, but earlier it was used only on sarong and inaphi, in Bangladesh, some Manipuri weavers mistakenly look the design of kewa-mana mayek as to be that of moirang-thokpa of Munipur (India.) Kewa- mana or moirang - thokpa has an area 9 cm in breadth and 17.5cm in height.
Such designs arc the products of Bangladeshi Manipuri weavers. However, moirang-thokpa (yarong design) has been used in Manipur (India) on inaphi and sarong.
