Tempest
Moirangthem Minakshi Devi *
We are not friends,
We are not foes,
We are two seafarers, lost in the tempest.
Our crew forsook the ship,
O'captain, we lose not our integrity.
Our sails ripping to shreds,
We are insurgents, lost in the tempest.
Let's endeavour the hardest, to steer away from this inclemency.
We be intrepid survivors of this wretched deluge.
No God to preserve us, may death not carry us over
We're sailors of sorrow, lost in the tempest.
Let this be our vengeance,
Let my body float ashore rather lost in the tempest.
Let out body float ashore rather lost in the tempest.
May no Banshee come to tell the tale,
Of two seafarers lost in the tempest.
