Technothlon - an International School Championship organized by Techniche - IIT Guwahati

When it comes to testing the all-round development of a student, there are only a few sources from where a student can improve his internal material and grab a chance to examine himself on a national platform.The students of IIT Guwahati, however, have moved a step ahead and targeted at cultivating the basic analytical and comprehensive abilities of the children.
Technothlon, an international school championship, is conducted every year as a part of Techniche, the annual Techno-management festival of IIT Guwahati. Having organized eleven successful editions of Technothlon, Techniche is now all ready for the twelfth time. Technothlon has been a favorite of many students nationwide as it is arguably one of the most competitive examinations conducted for the school students in India. Technothlon is also the largest examination conducted by an all-student organization, and is inviting participation from enthusiastic children this year as well.
Through a series of events involving mental aptitude, logic and dexterity, it seeks to provide school students a platform to build fundamental experience and knowledge, to exercise co-ordination skills, andto think out of the box. Technothlon is being conducted for students of class IX to XII. Students have to participate in teams of two. There are two squads: Junior Squad - Students of classes 9th and 10th and Hauts Squad - Students of classes 11th and 12th. The basic requirements for team formation are that there should consist exactly two members from the same squad from the same school.
The prelims of this exam are set to be conducted on July 19th. The exam is of two and a half hour length andwould test the basic logical reasoning and mental abilities of the students. Students are required to write the exam in pairs of two, that is along with their partner; a move which promotes social co-ordination andsharing of knowledge among the budding minds.
Based on the performance of the students in the prelims, the top 50 teams from each squad are selected and are awarded the tag of finalists. Apart from these, the mains round of Technothlon would be conducted during Techniche and the winners of this final round would grab prize money worth 1 lakh. While the top 100 teams would be invited to IIT Guwahati, the next 400 teams would be awarded with silver certificates from Technothlon as a token of merit.
The interested students can register themselves for the examination online or offline. The registration fee is Rs 100 per team. Participating schools can collect the registration fees themselves and then prepare ademand draft to be handed over to the city representatives.
