Strike in Senapati on 'encroachment'

A 24-hour general strike to protest the alleged encroachment of land in Manipur's Senapati district by neighbouring Nagaland has united all communities and citizens' organisations in the state.
People in Manipur are fed up with strikes and blockades as they disrupt supplies of essential items. However, perhaps this is the first general strike that has received support from lawyers, teachers, students, political parties and public organisations because territory is a sensitive issue for the people.
