Strangled
Shahnaz Islam *
That night, I remember
Both wept in pain
Floor stained there
Split and broken pieces of wine bottles
Pierced my foot and
Choked with cannabis.
They broke up or
Perhaps one of their usual fights
She said, he is gone forever.
He said, quit this time.
But there's always some kind of feeling
You can't escape.
It's been haunting me for years now
My heart nurtures it.
Even after death of memories
Winter is still bitter and spring is lifeless.
Every time I try to make myself feel human
I am strangled with your love!
