Step Outside a Few Moments
Dr Ranbir Laishram *
Oh! Weary souls
Step outside a few moments,
From the confines of Lockdown,
To your kitchen garden,
To pull out some weeds
and to water the thirsty flowers and herbs,
Wilted by the scorching summar heat.
To be with Nature, and the greeneries around,
To refresh your mind,
To boost your immunity,
To get a new lease of life.
Step outside a few moments,
In the open space too,
From the confines of Self isolation
Look at the sunrise,
The giver of life,
Sit and expose yourself to it's invisible rays,
To nourish your skin and bone,
And to get some fresh air too.
Inhale and exhale deep to get positive vibes,
To revitalize yourself with
More energy, and less anxiety.
Oh ! City dwellers
Step outside a few moments,
Of the confines of the concrete jungle
Go for a walk a little bit
To Kangla, the age - old sanctuary,
To be with nature,
Notice it's serene beauty,
The Kangla moat, the greeneries
and happy shoals of fishes...
Dwell a moment near the old heritage,
Soak up nature to give yourself a boost
For,it nourishes your body and mind,
To be in harmony with your heart.
Oh ! Caged souls
Step inside your place of worship
Sit alone with your inner spirit,
The gift of God,
Your true companion of life,
Who guides and leads you ,
To get some inspiration and advice,
For it will rejuvinate your body and mind.
