SPSS is a computer program used for statistical analysis. This Programme seeks to enhance social researchers' knowledge of quantitative data analysis and trains them in the use of computer software for social research. As a demand from many organizations/institutions and research scholars from North East, TISS, Guwahati is organizing a 6-day training programme at a very reasonable rate. We hope this training programme will benefit many of us.
The specific objectives of the Programme are:
1. To train the participants in the use of appropriate modes of analysing quantitative data.
2. To help the participants understand the assumptions of applied statistical techniques.
3. To familiarize the participants with various software packages for social sciences
4. To provide the participants with hands-on training in the use of computer for data analysis.
Who can benefit from the Programme?
1. Scholars engaged in research leading to M.Phil. or Ph.D. degree
2. University and college teachers engaged in research and/or teaching research methodology
3. Social researchers in institutions or organisations engaged in research on socio-economic issues and implementation/evaluation of programmes.
Participants are requested to bring a laptop for the training programme. The 6 days training programme will be conducted at TISS, North Eastern Regional Campus, Guwahati.
Training Programme Fee: Rs. 1500/- per participant which is inclusive of tea, lunch & evening snacks.
Please submit the completed application form along with the course fee on or before 21st of January 2011.
