Stakeholders meet on North East Himalayan Region
Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Department of Bio- technology organised a two day Stakeholders meet on "Conser- vation and Sustainable Development of North East Himalayan Region' at its cam- pus at Takyelpat today.
Additional Chief Secretary Shambhu Singh inaugurated the meet participated by mem- bers of civil society organisations from Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Sikkim, Mizoram, Nagaland and Uttarakhand Chairman Anil P Joshi of Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organisation (HESCO), Dehradun assured to ex- tend all necessary help along with Professors and scientists from Manipur University, Central Agriculture University, Canchipur and ICAR.
The main topics for discussion were NE Himalayan forest, water, soil, agriculture, livelihood practices, ecological entre- preneurship which can ultimately lead to bio-economic development in the North East.
