Stage set for Unity Concert at Bangalore

The Manipuri Meitei Association, Bangalore (MMAB) is all set to host the Unity Concert at
Bangalore’s St. Joseph’s Auditorium on Saturday the 20th February, 2016.
The musical extravaganza- Unity Concert- aims at fortifying the communal harmony among the
people of Manipur and other Northeastern states as well as to harmonize the Northeasterners
and the mainland people.
A galaxy of musical luminaries and silver screen heartthrobs from the Northeastern state of
Manipur would enthrall a large multi-lingual crowd from the Northeast and Karnataka states.
Among them legendary singer, Samurailatpam Naba Sharma popularly known as Naba Volcano
amongst his fans for his crowd pulling volcanic power would present his golden numbers at the
Concert. Sekmai Chamelei, Ukhrul-da-Eigi Thawai Leihore, Matam Kuirabagi Tungda and
Ching-gi Echal are some of his everlasting melodies. The singer is also a proud recipient of the
coveted Sangeet Bhusan Award for his songs based on unity and Armed Forces Special Powers
Act.
Singer-actors like Aphao (famous nos like - Narol Erol Thai Mai, Nakhoi Khulgi Khunjindani
Eina Nangbu Ngaijaba, Sininglaga Sirone Nangbu, etc.) and Hamom Sadananda (famous nos
like- Nungshi Nari-ngei Asuk Waba, Koina Paibi Cheklani Nangdi, Kuchu Mubi Nangdi) are the
stars, who would steal the heart of many at the night.
Among the galaxy of celebrities, Manipuri fusion singer Sorri Senjam, who is known for his
acumen in blending folk music with western classical, would also perform his hits including
Kaboklei, Sekmai Gi Yoo Na, Mensinba Ngamdraba, Choina Tarakpa etc.
Besides, the crowd would also witness various performances from promising musical
personalities. Gifted guitarist Boss Armando Leishangthem, popularly known as Boss would
showcase his skills. The young guitarist, who started his musical venture at his childhood, is
mastered in blues, jazz and rock.
A Bangalore based metal band, Heavy Water would perform at the musical night for die-hard
rock/metal music lovers. The team of five namely Meg (Guitars), Denis (vocals), Bolin (drums),
Mumu (Guitars) and Abu (Bass) have played across the Southern and Northeastern part of the
country since the inception of their band.
Koubru, an amateur rock band of music enthusiasts based in Bangalore, would perform their
classic rock. Team members of the band namely Haks (vocal), Mistan (lead guitar), Exal (bass),
Pontu (Guitars) and Dpu/Somen (Drums) would mesmerize the crowd.
There will be ethnic fashion show and an introduction of a new Manipuri Bangalore band.
The Concert is being sponsored by various philanthropists and institutes across the globe. With
the help of Alva’s Education Foundation, a renowned educational group based at Mangalore in
Karnataka; Blooming Travel Solution Pvt. Ltd, headquartered at Sundernagar, Himachal
Pradesh; Chisel, a fitness joint venture between Chisel Management and Cricketer Virat Kohli;
Chumthang, a craft industry started by Sophia Rajkumari in Bangalore’s Whitefield; Cobigent
Technologies & Solutions, a global IT product, solutions and services company; ELVEEGO
CIRCUITS, a company that delivers high performance Analog, Mixed Signal and RF IC designs;
NEcab.in - Regional Taxi Service for the people of northeast (India); FC Kanglasha, a Bangalore
based football club formed by sport lover people from Manipur; Paradise Stay Inn Hospitality,
Kamanahalli in Bangalore; UNITRANS, a IT company based in Imphal and WiseWorld, a
Toronto based company helping people from Northeast Indian states in their needs for
immigration in Cannada, the MMAB is organizing the concert for bringing unity and harmony in
India’s Silicon city, Bangalore.
