'Serious concern for unarmed civilians'
30th October 2019
Youth’s Forum for Protection of Human Rights (YFPHR) learned through the orders made by the Deputy Commissioner of the Imphal East that to arrange Make Shift Camp, Medical Emergency Facilities, Public Transportation, Power Supply, to supply Water for the Military to be stationed in Modern Collage and MB College which is of a very serious concern for the unarmed civilians.
On the 25th of October, 2019 we have urged the Prime Minister of India that to protect the civilians from violence, however, the scenario is observed to be degrading and possible violence is expected tomorrow as per the arrangement made by the Government of Manipur through its Deputy Commissioners in connection with the controversial Frame Work Agreement signed with the NSCN-IM on the 3rd August, 2015 and which is believed to be signed with final agreement tomorrow without the NSCN-IM on the 31st of October, 2019.
We strongly object and oppose the nature of steps taken up by the Government of India of occupying the Educational Institutions and making it as a transitional point for the military which is of serious concern and such action is considered to be a violation of International Humanitarian Law.
We also learned that the interest of the Civilians are still subsided who are innocent and never part of such process of the conflict.
We further learned that the Government of India and Manipur are aware of such violence which may be occurred tomorrow and cannot be denied that the Government of India is framing to committed crime against Humanity.
YFPHR, urge the government to Stop the violence and protect the civilians.
Yours sincerely,
(Kh. Phajaton)
